February's Project
This month Samantha is going to the Red Ball, a charity event that raises money for the Red Cross. She is wearing a red silky long dress with a dropped waist and a full skirt. The beading around the neckline was done with Swarovski Crystals and heart shaped beads with flowers painted on them.
My goal for each month is to try to make a pretty dress that is enhanced by beads. This month, I outlined the neckline and added a tear drop shape in the middle of the neckline. The hearts were added as a tribute to Valentine's Day.

Gita, this is lovely! The beading looks like a royal necklace. Where did you ever find the lovely heart-shaped beads? I love that you are creating stories to go with your monthly creations. Samantha looks happy to be going to this ball!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, wouldn't we all love to have this collection at the end of the year... sized to fit my adult body. This appeals to me hugely because I learned to sew making doll clothes and have always enjoyed it... I'm having a lot of fun vicariously through your BJP pages!
ReplyDeleteSamantha looks quite elegant!!!
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty dress! reminded of my daughter, samantha, playing dress up when she was little. my mother-in-law would go to the thrift stores and buy all the used prom and formal dresses for her to play in. this one is very elegant for you doll, and the beading sets it off just perfectly!
ReplyDeleteSamantha is going to be the belle of the ball! I love that beautiful dress, so glamorous! I want one just like it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique take on the BJP! I love it! Samantha is going to have the best wardrobe ever at the end of the year!
