Bead Project from Asilomar

This is what I stitched during my class in bead quilting. It was lots of fun to review and learn different stitches. Thom Atkins taught us backstitch, Peco, couching, fill-in, fringe, rope stitch and gave us lots and lots of inspiration. As you can see, my piece isn't finished but I wanted to give you an idea of what I did all week.

  1. Wow, I see so many techniques in this piece. I know some of them you mentioned, but not all and don't feel like I've really mastered any of them! I think I see a shisha mirror, and I know how to attach those with bead stacks. In fact that's the common thread with my BJPs this year. Also I love to use bead stacks to make "barnacles". What I wonder is what the technique is called on your piece with the squares lower right. It that a kind of fill-in? It's going to be lovely when finished -- a kind of "sampler"!
